Our charity tries to help greyhounds everywhere but especially those dogs in Spain. These dogs are largely beyond the reach of other UK rescue groups who already have their hands full. We home most of our rescues in mainland Europe but a small percentage, despite quarantine restrictions, we bring to the UK to help share the load. All are wormed, vaccinated, sterilised/castrated and should have had dentals before adoption.
The 2 main categories are as follows:-
Sponsorship helps with the cost of processing these dogs through quarantine. To sponsor one of the above galgos during their 6 months stay, please contact Sue North at the GIN Shop on 01202 513000 (Daytime).
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs in the UK, please contact us 01784 483206 and ask for a homing pack which contains information on what it is like to adopt a greyhound/galgo.
Then when you feel you are ready, please complete and send us the questionnaire in the pack and our Homing Officer Pat Whipps (on 01784 434735, or greyhomes@houndhouse.fsnet.co.uk will then get in touch with you to chat more with you and arrange a home visit to try to enable us to match the right dog to the right home.
For Adopting one of these dogs on their release, contact Pat Whipps, our Homing Officer as above.
Finally, a glimpse of the future, the dogs in Spain being prepared for homing in mainland Europe:
