Sue Sarney and her family kindly manned a GIN stall at the 1st Twyford Scouts Donkey Derby and Summer Fair in Twyford. This is a yearly event run by the scouts, with hot dogs, burgers and of course a beer tent. There are usually some fairground attractions, activities for children, charity stalls with tombolas and games, this year there was a fire-eater, sometimes ferret racing, and of course donkey races with betting. Every year at the end of the afternoon is a crisp drop (a light aircraft flies over the field and drops a quantity of crisps out over the crowd) the children go wild, running on mass to try to catch a bag, great fun to watch.

Events Update

We are very lucky to have so many supporters up and down the country who turn out in all weather to man stalls at local shows to raise funds for our work.  Many organise dog shows, sponsored walks, street collections which not only raise funds for our work but often result in new members for GIN and  homes for the greyhounds and galgos.

The 2007 fundraising season is well underway and although the weather has not always been kind to us it has not stopped us. The GIN Cheshire group have many events this year as you can see on our Events page. Sue Horne has been busy with her car boots in Worcestershire. Sue North and her helpers at the shop in Dorset have been busy with street collections, sponsored walks with more planned events. Christine and Rita in Sussex have been busy manning stalls at their local events and we too, here in Middlesex, have had a busy time.

Thanks to everyone, we appreciate all you do, in front of and behind the scenes for our greyhounds in need!
