Galgo Release Day – 2nd August 2007

When I first looked out on the morning of 2nd August the sky was very grey and it was raining but Mother Nature must have known that we needed sunshine and that is what we got before too long.

At about 8.45am  Bob and his wife arrived from Gloucestershire eager  to pick up George (was Lupo). The sheer joy on Bob and indeed George’s face as they left to go home told me this was a match made in heaven.

As more people arrived we all found our way into the paddock area excitedly waiting for each dog in  turn to be led out of the kennels.

Mogly,  the very nervous boy was next and although you could sense his fear he did very well indeed and his confidence was helped by Dawn, John and Lurcher, Jess. By the  time he was on his way home to West Sussex he was trotting off nicely on his lead.

Carol and Angela kindly came with  the beautiful Diana to take Fasene home to Cheshire for Christine who was unfortunately on holiday. Fasene literally “bounced” out brimming with confidence and found great delight in rolling on his back in the grass.

Handsome Percy (was Niko) cautiously emerged into the big wide world to start his new life with Angela and Martin in Hampstead.

Judy and Peter were clearly delighted when Kenza put in an appearance and she seemed very happy to be going home with them to Norfolk.

Dulce was brought out next for some exercise in the paddock on her first day of freedom although she was not making her way to Dorset until the following day. She was looking very happy and full of energy.

Pedro (was Fenix) may only have a very short tail but he wagged it very fast indeed showing his approval of his new family, Joanne and David from Hertfordshire.

Yara’s new family, Ingrid, Mark and  their two daughters looked extremely happy to be taking her home to Derbyshire.

Under the welcome shade of the Gazebo refreshments and drinks were enjoyed by everyone and very kindly Martin said a few words of thanks to everyone on behalf of GIN and passed on best wishes from Arthur Finch who was not able to be there. I  think it could be said  that a good  time was had by all humans and canines.

Mogly Dulce Pedro (was Fenix)

Once again sincere thanks to Richard, Jane and all kennel staff for such a wonderful day.
