| Start time: | 11.00 am |
| Parking: | PUTTLES BRIDGE Car Park, Rhinefield Road, Nr Brockenhurst |
This
walk, approximately 3.75 miles long, should take around an hour
and a half at a leisurely pace.
It covers a diverse area of woodland and open heath with
some water stops for the dogs to enjoy.
There are footbridges over most of the streams along the
route but it can be muddy in a couple of places – especially
after heavy rainfall. Please wear appropriate footwear/waterproofs dependant on
recent weather!
The walk crosses over Rhinefield Road, at the start and finish. Please take care with your dogs and keep them on the lead for this part, as the road can be busy at weekends.
Please maintain control of your dog and respect other users of the forest, especially horses and horse riders.
Either:
leave the A31 Ringwood-Southampton
road at Picket Post, follow signs through Burley to
Brockenhurst. Stay on this road which skirts the edge of Brockenhurst and then doubles back to the
left. The signs to Puttles Bridge car park are on your right.
OR: take
the A35 from Christchurch, turn off to Brockenhurst, then as
above.
Please take care entering and leaving the car park, which can be busy.
A
donation of £2.00 per person for Greyhounds in Need can be
payable to Sue North before the start of the walk.
All
dogs must be kept under the control and supervision of their
owners. All dogs
