Coats for the Freezing Skinnies!

Note from Anne

I'd like to thank here all those who make and send us those wonderful coats for the refuges in Spain (yes, in that Continental climate, the temperature in winter drops to minus 10ºC or lower, north of Madrid, and you can imagine the misery in outside kennels. I've seen galgos in kennels, frozen to death in northern Spain, with their water bowls frozen solid. Any excess coats, we send to kennels with greyhounds here in the UK.

We have a giggle some times at the novel designs of the coats you make and often are very touched, for example, by those which arrived from Katie in Cornwall, with a holy medallion of St. Francis attached to each one for each dog, and each coat wrapped round a soft toy for the dogs to play with!

We have patterns here if you want to knit or make coats. Just let us know.

Incidentally, don't forget to coat up your own dogs at night if you turn off your central heating at home! You're tucked up under a duvet. He / she isn't!
