Manuela of  Levriers Swiss Adoptions has just been to Vic to collect ten more        galgos—it is lovely to know that they will soon be in homes   before the cold weather comes. We receive many   emails and photographs of some very sad stories of cruelty to the galgos and even after being involved with GIN for over 10 years  I find it hard to deal with these and find myself questioning again and again why and how anyone can treat these lovely dogs so badly.      We sadly cannot help them all but we do our very best. Those we work with in Spain, at  the refuges, are very grateful for our help and over the years the work that they put into preparing the galgos that come into their care has helped us and the adoption groups we work with enormously with our rehoming work. The majority of the galgos that we are all able to help are found abandoned, little is known about them, they come with scars and fresh wounds, damaged bones and so the assessment of the dogs by those carrying out their primary care is so important.   Mada of  the RECAL refuge in Almendralejo,  Balbino of Arca de Noe, Albacete, Gail and Andy of Noah’s Arc, Murcia and Saskia of Villamartin, Cadiz, and many others we work with provide us with photographs and       details of the characters of the dogs as they develop and sometimes we receive videos too, without this valuable information the rehoming of these dogs would very difficult.                                                                                      Carolyn        34 Three lucky galgos, and their friend, enjoying a rest in Switzerland
